1971 – THE MUSIC
With Nadia Sunde
Presented by Queensland Cabaret Festival and Metro Arts
Janis Joplin’s Pearl, Carole King’s Tapestry and Led Zeppelin’s IV; Nadia Sunde takes us on a journey into the soundtrack of a year that has never really left us.
1971 explores a year in music that continues to weave its soulful tapestry throughout our 21st century lives. It was the year of Sticky Fingers, Janis Joplin’s Pearl, Carole King’s Tapestry and Led Zeppelin’s IV…to name just a few. Multi-award-winning chanteuse and ABC music journo Nadia Sunde takes her audience on a journey into the soundtrack of a year that has never really left us.
Settle in for an epic evening of music, featuring songs by Carole King, Marvin Gaye, Joni Mitchell, Janis Joplin, Harry Nilsson, Elton John, Bill Withers, John Denver, Aretha Franklin, The Rolling Stones and more.
This stunning concert cabaret brings Nadia’s ‘deliciously warm and soulful’ voice together with Peta Leigh Wilson on keys, Kym Ambrose on drums, Crick Boue on bass and Scott French on guitar.
