Presented by The Hive Collective and Metro Arts
By Jada Alberts and Anne-Louise Sarks | Directed by Heather Fairbairn
Ancient Greek tragedy collides with a very modern royal family in this showdown for the ages.
Born to a household mired in murder and bloodshed, Elektra is really not okay. Seething with anger and vengeance, she blasts her music louder and waits impatiently for her brother to return from exile. Knowing that when he does, the walls of this house will shake.
Alberts and Sarks’ visceral and contemporary adaptation lays open the devastating legacy of trauma on future generations, asking: why do we treat worst, those we love the most?
★★★★ “This is how all Greek tragedies should be performed. …fast and furious, packing the Sophoclean epic into just one hour.”
