By Leah Lever
Presented by Queensland Cabaret Festival

Savour life’s best and bittersweet moments through song in this richly layered cabaret.

Brimming with all things sugar and spice, Sweet Life brings together the highs and lows of life and love in a delicious musical journey.

From the classic Blueberry Hill to Julie Andrew’s iconic rendering of My Favourite Things, the weird and wonderful Summer Wine and the sublime Love Tastes Like Strawberries, Leah will give you a tantalising taste of life’s more intriguing flavours. This scrumptious cabaret has all the vulnerable innocence, courage and authenticity of Maria in The Sound of Music.

Like the lingering drizzle of honey, the warming trickle of sipped wine, and the sensual burst of flavour from the first bite into a strawberry, Leah Lever’s new cabaret Sweet Life will leave you wanting more.

“Breathtaking, captivating and pitch-perfect.”

Teenage songstress Leah Lever has an ethereal soprano tone that lifts her audience on an inspirational journey of positivity.

Leah was identified as musically gifted at a young age. Then, when she was just 15 years old, Leah was the youngest ever student accepted to study music at one of Queensland’s leading universities and graduated with a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Music) With Distinction in 2020 – at just 18 years old. She polished her performance skills studying at Australia’s most prestigious creative arts institution, the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) this year.

Inspired by music from the 1940s to the 1960s, Leah’s style is versatile and includes classical cross-over, musical theatre, ballads, jazz, folk, and pop.

Whether she’s singing before a crowd of thousands or performing a more intimate cabaret show for just a hundred or so eager fans, Leah always gives her all and creates an unforgettable musical experience for her audience.
