Uplifting and empowering, The Type showcases a powerful cast from your favourite pro girl gang, Pink Matter. Bringing together five badass women dancers from different cultural backgrounds and of all shapes and sizes, The Type calls up each woman’s individual journey and takes aim at the cut-throat nature of the commercial dance industry.

With fusion and conceptual free form choreography set to a massive Hip-Hop, R&B and House music soundtrack, The Type’s one-of-a-kind cast are unapologetically bringing Street Dance into the realm of new skool Australian theatre. Audiences will be caught between mesmerising contemporary movement and high-octane pop-culture hits; wanting to jump out of their seats and dance.

Catch heavy-hitters Wanida, Amy, Floss, Kimmy and Monika as they take inspiration from their own experiences around representation and body image, and blend it with the power and strength of fusion movement.

Challenging the standards of beauty and success that shape Australian entertainment today, The Type is fearless and hopeful with big girl-power energy.

Wanida is a creative director, choreographer and performance artist. In 2017 she founded Pink Matter, a company aimed at creating opportunities, highlighting powerful women in the community and creating conversation around the intersectionality of diversity in Australian media.

Some of the projects Wanida has been involved with are: Performing in the ‘Commonwealth Games’ and the ‘Special Olympics’ as well as featuring in campaigns for Vice, Absolut Vodka, Fox Sports & Universal Store.

Wanida is a proud woman of colour that is successfully working in multiple fields of street/commercial dance. Often judging events, teaching workshops and producing work, She’s highly active in the dance community with 3 sold out independent productions under her belt. She continues to strive to inspire, mentor and be a pillar of representation.


Amy Zhang is a performer and movement director driven by the idea that dance is a universally understood language. She has turned the heads of iconic brands like Nike, Cartier and Calvin Klein and recently developed an AI dance app in collaboration with Google.

Credits aside, Amy loves dance for its holistic benefits. Through her work with Groove Therapy, an organisation aimed at making the benefits of dance accessible to all walks of life, she has co-written and facilitated programs for at-risk youth, dementia sufferers, refugee girls and the everyday person. Through this work Amy has partnered with organisations like Headspace and Participate Australia.


Kimberley is a professional dancer, choreographer and performer with a passion for the urban and commercial dance world. With credits such as TYGA, Samantha Jade, Timomatic, DJ Tigerlily, Brisbane Silver Bullets, Channel 9 and Brisbane Broncos Cheerleaders, she has developed a plethora of National and International industry knowledge.

Alongside this, Kimberley truly believes there is power behind expressing art through choreography. Throughout her career she has built award-winning routines for various companies and studios around Australia. She has also choreographed a variety of professional shows used for prestigious corporate events. Kimberley has a genuine passion for creating and providing the audience with something they won’t forget.


Floss Moloney is a Brisbane dancer who has trained for 22 years. Floss has toured the world by training under Parris Goebel as a member of ‘ReQuest Dance Crew’ and ‘The Royal Family’. As a member of ‘The Royal Family’, she had the opportunity to win two world Hip Hop championships. Floss was also lucky enough to be selected to teach and perform at Hip Hop International Russia. Floss is a recognised face within the Brisbane dance community and has been selected as a cast member of many iconic shows known nationally. These include Shade 1.0, Shade 2.0 and Pink Matter. Performing allows Floss to strive for greatness, and have confidence in all facets of life.


From a young age Monika has had a strong desire to express herself through dance and performing, Known for her versatility and the ability to fuse and adapt to various genres of dance. Monika’s stage performance work includes theatre productions like the grant winning show ‘One Way’- A contemporary x street fusion show by Elements Collective and ‘Shade’ – A visual art & street dance production by Wanida Serce.

Through Monika’s time with dance collective Pink Matter, she has been able to compete in Australia’s Got Talent, ongoingly perform at Eat Street Northshore and feature in music videos and perform in stage shows for many Australian artists.
