Drawing from personal narratives, camp aesthetic and developmental psychology, Jeremy Plint’s hand crafted soft sculptures are reminiscent of children’s toys.
Plint utilises recycled fabrics, collage and household objects as a Queering of the psychoanalytic concept of the ‘transitional object’, beckoning the audience into the artist’s personal narrative and histories.

From the Artist:
Jeremy Plint is a Meanjin based interdisciplinary artist working primarily in painting and installation. Drawing from camp aesthetic, western art history and pop culture their work is concerned with the intersection of queer experience and familial structure.
Having obtained a Bachelor in Fine Art at QCA (2013) and a Master of Art Therapy at Latrobe University (2017), Plint’s self reflective exploration of personal narratives within contemporary art spaces is firmly rooted in family and community life.
The artist maintains a clinical practice in Mental health and AOD which directly informs their creative practice; lending itself to an unusual and deeply personal approach to making which blurs the boundaries between psychotherapy and contemporary art.
