Alex Mate Tuaoi

Alex Mate Tuaoi enjoys the freedom to express himself through art. He is a self-taught artist who enjoys painting with acrylics, painting wildlife, abstract, contemporary art and portraiture. Alex loves to incorporate his Samoan culture and is well-known for the vibrant colours used in his artworks.

Alex previously showcased his artworks in group exhibitions in Wellington, Sydney and Brisbane, Alex held his first solo exhibition in 2019 titled ‘Inspire’.

‘Love & Light’ will be Alex’s 2nd solo exhibition which will feature paintings of people who epitomise love and is a positive light of influence such as Jesus, Nelson Mandela and Billy Graham.

Alex Mate Tuaoi has been passionate about art since he was a young boy. He is a self-taught artist who enjoys painting with acrylics, painting wildlife, abstract, contemporary art and portraiture. Alex loves to incorporate his Samoan culture and is well-known for the vibrant colours used in his artworks.

Alex is a humble man of few words, but says he is inspired by having the freedom to express himself through art. That sanctuary is something Alex has admirably made time for, working on the paintings around a physically demanding full-time job as a delivery truck driver, often on 10-12 hour shifts.
