Amy Zhang is movement artist that specialises in performance, movement direction and choreography. Her work spans across live performance, film, tv and digital art.
Amy’s practise explores how building intimacy through the cross-cultural exchange of knowledge and movement can become the framework for how we collaborate and work with others. Her practise is grounded in Chinese ways of knowing and storytelling through experimenting with the intersections of street style foundations and contemporary frameworks.
Commercially, Amy has worked with notable brands and artists like Cartier, Rita Ora, Hermes, Google and Nike.
She has also worked with various artists and organisations across Australia including Performance Space, AGNSW, The Hayes Theatre, Brisbane Festival, First Draft, Belvoir St Theatre, Supercell Festival, Vitalstatistix, 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art, Critical Path and Diversity Arts.
Amy was also an artist in residence at the City of Sydney Live/ Work residency in 2019-2020.
Born in Australia, William (Billy) Keohavong is a scholarship recipient of both ‘New Zealand School of dance’ in 2015, and ‘Ev & Bow Full-Time Training Centre’ in 2012. His journey into dance started with Street Dance, specifically Dancehall and House. This since has given Billy an extra edge in his career as a specialist in Contemporary Dance.
In 2016, Billy was offered a position with ‘The Human Expression Dance Company’ (Sinagapore) as a full-time Artist. This opportunity brought him all over Asia and Europe, performing and touring extensively within festivals like; Florence Dance Festival (Italy), Zawirowania Dance Festival (Poland), Laiks Dejot Festival (Latvia), Fukuoka Fringe Dance Festival (Japan), Daegu Dance Festival (South Korea), Bangkok International Dance Festival (Thailand) and M1 Contact Dance Festival (Singapore); just to name a few. He has worked with highly acclaimed choreographers such as: Sue Healy, Ross McCormack, Meryl Tankard, Martin del Amo, Tor Colombus, Kuik Swee Boon, Sarah Boulter, Shaun Parker and Natalie Allen.
On top of all this, Billy has a strong passion for teaching and movement research where his philosophy sits between the realms of ‘Eastern practice’ and ‘Character work’. He has worked closely as a teacher and coach with full-time institutes like ‘Brent Street Full-Time’ and ‘Ev & Bow Full-Time Training Centre’. He was one of the core teachers that helped train and nurture the full-time artists within ‘The Human Expression Dance Company’ (Singapore)
Jackson Garcia is a movement and music artist based on Gadigal land. Jack is a well recognised street dancer who has competed and performed all around the world. Having grown up playing the drums, Jack combines this with his understanding of street dance and their cultures to inform his music.
His unique take on sound has found Jack creating sound for many movement performances in both the digital and live space. Performances that he has created sound for have been shown in places like, Performance Space, First Draft, 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art and Metro Arts.
Teegan is a lighting designer, production manager, technician, technical manager, and stage manager based in Brisbane. They hold a Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary and Applied Theatre from Griffith University and have a diverse professional portfolio spanning various companies and festivals, including The Good Room, JUTE, Flipside Circus, Woodford Folk Festival, Brisbane Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival, QUT, Griffith University, Indelability Arts, and Counterpilot. Notable highlights of Teegan’s career include serving as the Venue and Technical Coordinator at Metro Arts and currently holding the position of Production Manager at La Boite Theatre.
As a lighting designer, Teegan has worked on a diverse array of performances, ranging from theatre and circus to drag and music. Recent credits include “She” with Indelability Arts and “Bliss” with The Good Room. Throughout their tenure at Metro Arts and La Boite Theatre, Teegan has collaborated with over 100 different artists and companies, contributing to a wide range of creative projects. They are particularly passionate about design-led theatre making, continually seeking innovative approaches to storytelling and visual aesthetics.
When not immersed in the world of theatre production, Teegan can usually be found with a book and a coffee in hand.
