Joshua Taliani is a First Nations (Bidjara/Kullali/ Wakka Wakka) Italian Artist and Performer. Working across genres, from street dance to dance theatre, Joshua’s practice has been grounded in hip-hop but his experience includes contemporary dance.
Joshua’s signature style is heavy on open choreography and infused with the art form of vogue (a part of the Ballroom culture). Joshua is also the Father of the Trailblazing House of Alexander – a leader in the queer BIPOC community which continues the legacy of Harlem’s Ballroom culture of creating space for, and helping to nurture, Trans and queer BIPOC. From 2023 to 2025, Joshua has been a Metro Arts Artist in Residence. During this time, he has received artistic support, access to creative space, and dedicated development time, resulting in the 2025 premiere of Unveiling Shadows.
Wanida is a Creative Director, Choreographer, and Performance Artist who has been professionally working for 15 years. Recognised as a leader in the dance industry, she has made her mark by producing original work, educating emerging artists, hosting and judging events, and continually redefining the possibilities of movement. Through her collective, Pink Matter, Wanida is committed to diversifying the dance landscape—championing dancers of all backgrounds, body types, and experiences, and breaking down barriers within the industry. A key focus of her practice is to elevate and showcase street dance as a legitimate and respected artform, both on stage and in digital spaces.
Her creative highlights include the acclaimed stage works Betwixt and The Type, as well as the innovative digital dance series Grounded. She has also choreographed major campaigns for brands such as Bonds and Adidas, and her choreography has featured in festivals and events both nationally and internationally.
Ebony Webb is a multidisciplinary artist working both on and off the stage in Magandjin/Brisbane. Ebony creates work as an actor, physical theatre performer, writer, director/choreographer, stage manager and in production and costume design. As of 2025, she is the Associate Director of Zen Zen Zo Physical Theatre and part of their core performance company and teaching team.
Ebony studied her Advanced Diploma of Performing Arts, majoring in Acting, at the Aboriginal Centre of the Performing Arts in 2017 and is now completing her Bachelor of Creative Arts (Acting) at QUT. She has also trained with The Actors Workshop, and with Zen Zen Zo’s Actor’s Dojo since 2022. Ebony has been working in Brisbane’s independent sector since 2017, as an actor and creator in theatre and film with companies such as La Boite Theatre Company, Zen Zen Zo, The Dead Puppet Society, Creative Clones, ArtSpear Entertainment, Magnetic North Theatre Company, A Moveable Theatre, School2Stage and immersive, interactive companies Counterpilot, Folly Games and Broad Encounters. Ebony is also a creator with digital production company Hijinks, making content surrounding games and storytelling.
Having created and performed works in several festivals, including Brisbane Powerhouse’s MELT Festival, Splendour in the Grass and Woodford Folk Festival, in venues big and small, and sometimes in no venue at all, Ebony is a versatile artist with a passion for boundary breaking work that challenges the actors and the audience alike.
Her practice is characterised by its holistic approach and focus on audience experience, which is reflected in a career spanning the arts, community engagement and event production.
Josephine graduated from QUT in 2022 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Technical Production) with Distinction, and has since gone on to become part of the team at Australasian Dance Collective. Within her career she has worked alongside groups such as Brisbane Festival, Studio Winter, The Farm, Counterpilot, Brisbane City Council’s Outdoor Gallery, and Asia Pacific Architecture Festival.
Steven May is a lighting designer and audio-visual technician and has worked technician and designer roles in many spheres of live events, including theatre, dance, circus and burlesque. This has led to providing lighting services within Meanjin for unique events and driving a larger focus on technical elements and integration to advance aesthetics and storytelling.
Recently his attention has turned to found-space theatre and fringe arts, building a production business with focus on smaller shows and unconventional arts projects. This has included lighting designs with a focus on site-specific design language and flexibility, as well as automation to allow for retooling with future touring and multiple venues in mind as a core element.
Nevin Howell is a Brisbane-based video designer and videographer. He currently works as Shake & Stir Theatre Company’s Content Creator. He was previously a Teaching Artist at Zen Zen Zo in 2014-18; a Resident Artist at Markwell Presents in 2015-18; and an Edit Assistant at optikal bloc in 2019-21. Nevin graduated from QUT in 2016 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Drama).
Nevin has made contributions as a video designer to Melbourne Theatre Company, Queensland Theatre, World Science Festival Brisbane, Shake & Stir, Playlab Theatre, Brisbane Festival, Wynnum Fringe, QMusic, Metro Arts, Backbone Youth Arts, The Little Red Company, Zen Zen Zo, The Good Room, Common People Dance Project and Counterpilot.
Nevin received the Billie Brown Award for Best Emerging Artist in 2023 as a Video Designer at the Matilda Awards. This was for a body of work that included DRIZZLE BOY, Queensland Theatre; VIETGONE, Queensland Theatre and WHITE CHINA, Playlab Theatre.
Aaron Jeffery is a Brisbane/Meanjin-based Stage and Production Manager with a diverse range of experience in the performing arts industry. Over the past year, he has worked with esteemed organizations such as the Griffith Conservatorium, QUT, Jute Theatre Company, Proudfoot and Friends, Debase Productions, and Assembly of Elephants and is currently working on Unveiling Shadows for Brisbane Festival in collaboration with Metro Arts. His involvement spans a variety of roles, showcasing his adaptability in managing both the logistical and creative aspects of live performances.
Aaron is known for his ability to collaborate effectively with artists and production teams, attention to detayle, and love of hiding terrible jokes in his biography.
Riley Camejo is an all-round, theatre creative, technician, and manager. With an extensive history in performance, theatre making, and technical production, his work often focuses on creating immersive and tactile experiences for a variety of audiences with a major focus on audio design.
Riley tries to push the envelope of what is considered “immersive” in theatre with the hope to inspire audiences to lose themselves in the worlds he creates.
Having fulfilled many roles, Riley has previously worked with a theatres and live performance companies including La Boite Theatre Company, Queensland Theatre, Metro Arts, Opera Queensland, Circa, Woodward Productions, Shake and Stir, RAVA Productions, and Woodford Folk Festival.
Equipped with a wealth of experience from touring, stage managing, designing, and operating shows around Australia, Riley strives to facilitate environments for storytelling and creativity to flourish and achieve their most potential.
Marshall Gray is an emerging Video and Production designer with a passion for storytelling, world building and immersive design. Marshall finds immense joy utilising their skills to facilitate the telling of LGBTQIA+ stories within theatre. They pair this joy with their love of video and its ability to bring complex worlds to life, creating magic within live performance storytelling. Through their work with companies like Dead Puppet Society and Erth, Marshall Gray is inspired to use their skills to explore the possibilities of immersive spaces within theatre.
