Metro Arts’ dedicated Venue staff will work with you to create an event to meet your specific needs.  From corporate workshops to birthday parties with the family band, we can work with you on beverage and food packages, technical requirements, seating and furniture, and staffing.

Creative Hire

Metro Arts, as a multi-arts organisation, proudly supports the creative community, offering reduced pricing for creative hires whether it’s a performance showcase, workshops, rehearsals or creative development endeavours across any of our spaces. Make an enquiry and our venue and events team will get in touch about making your hire happen.

Our dedicated studio spaces and galleries offer an ideal environment for exploration, rehearsals and workshops. The New Benner Theatre is perfect for hosting any creative event, showcase or theatre performance, while our Factory Lane and Metro Arts Bar create the perfect space for live music, poetry readings, live drawing and celebrations.

For those interested in performance or exhibition hires, please note that all external bookings are subject to availability and approval by our Programming Team. Each expression of interest is considered holistically in relation to our mission, our commitment to contemporary and experimental practice, and the potential to engage audiences.

 

Food & Beverage

Looking to offer food or beverages for your event? Metro Arts offers tailored catering packages in collaboration with a number of renowned local providers. Our fully licensed Laneway Bar also offers a curated selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to suit any occasion. In addition, our skilled team is able to create and serve a variety of cocktails. For further flexibility, we can offer a pop-up bar setup within event spaces, ensuring seamless service whenever you need it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there parking onsite?

West Village has 450 secure on-site parking bays (free for 2 hours) accessible via Mollison Street. For further pricing details see here. Alternatively, there is limited on street parking available but please note parking meters may apply.

Can I bring my own alcohol?

No. Metro Arts is a licensed venue and as such BYO alcohol is strictly prohibited.

Can I organise my own catering?

Metro Arts can facilitate catering on your behalf through our preferred local caterers. These caterers have a relationship with Metro Arts and have curated catering offerings specially to suit our venues requirements. Please be sure to flag any catering requirements with our Venue and Events team at time of booking and we can advise accordingly.

What is your smoking policy?

Both Metro Arts and the West Village precinct are non-smoking areas, with no designated smoking sites within their vicinity. Smoking is permitted in areas surrounding the site on Wilson, Boundary and Mollison Streets.

Can I bring in additional equipment?

Additional equipment brought in by a hirer can be utilised following testing and tagging by the Metro Arts technical team. If you’re expecting to bring additional equipment, please speak with our Venue and Events team at time of booking and they will be able to organise a conversation with our technical team.

Is staffing included in my hire?

Standard venue hire costing is not inclusive of staffing due to event-specific requirements. If you require staffing Metro Arts is able to provide estimated costs following a conversation to determine what would be required for your event.. If you suspect that you will require staffing, please speak with our Venue and Events team at time of booking and they will be able to assist you with an estimate.
