We created BKB in 2019 as a showcase piece and have quickly found our feet in
moving forward as our own brand to create something more. After completing Rhys
Hume’s teacher mentorship program (2020, 2021), we have a regular class at Lucid
Moves dance studio every week where we aim to provide something more than just
choreography. Within BKB we have multiple years of crew and studio experience, this
allows us to form productive structures for class and provide a well-rounded session in
order to get the most out of our dancers/students. As a competition group we placed
first in Australia and second internationally competing at World Supremacy
Battlegrounds. BKB has directed and produced multiple concept videos where we have
used a multitude of different dancers and creatives in the Brisbane area. We have also
created a show piece performed at the 2021 Pinc Inc. hosted by Pink Matter as well as
taught at other Brisbane based studios. Most importantly, we are passionate for female
representation in this industry and are striving to make progress in the way women are
perceived and used in the creative arts realm.
Support the future of Australian contemporary arts practice, now.
We love what we do. The artists love what we do. You love what we do.
So, show the love.
